Ruth H. MSc Financial EngineeringSAT Prep, GRE, Algebra, and Geometry

As a former 9th grade Algebra teacher, I have a passion for helping students achieve their best in Mathematics.  I usually find in many cases, that once struggling students get the right foundational concepts and one-on-one lessons designed to fit their learning style, it is only a matter of time before their grades improve, their confidence increases, and their interest in Math develops. It is rewarding to help students achieve results that last a lifetime.

Rhi M.Algebra, Basic Math, Accounting, and Federal and Corporate Tax

I tutored algebra and basic math during my last two years of undergraduate work at the University of Connecticut. I’ve also tutored students while completing my Master’s degree in tax at the University of Georgia in the subjects of introductory accounting and federal and corporate taxes.

Alex M.MCAT, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology

I coached youth baseball for a number of years and as a father of a high school student about to attend college, my approach to coaching and learning includes setting goals based on commitment and interest. I feel that people are capable of meeting almost any goal in life provided there is a passion and understanding that nothing is accomplished without a purpose, a plan, and commitment.

Alex M.MCAT, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology

A recent medical graduate now in private practice in northern Virginia, I discovered my passion for teaching by happenstance after I volunteered as an immunology tutor for a month – I’ve been hooked ever since. Medicine is a passion of mine, and this is translated into my teaching of the life sciences, especially in relation to humans.  Oh, and who says teaching has to be boring? A good sense of humor always makes learning fun!

A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special. – Nelson Mandela
